How to Create a Goal

To add goals in WorkDove, navigate to the Goals application. You can do this via your Goals dashboard card or under Apps > Goals.

Important Note: Depending on your organization’s account settings, this app may be labeled as KPI, OKR, or another naming variation.

Once in the Goals application, to add a goal you will click the green plus sign in the top right corner of the application.

Important Note: The fields available when entering your goal may vary depending on your organization's chosen configuration of the Goals application, whether it's Simplified or Cascading.

General Tab

Regardless of the Goals application configuration, you will always need to include the Person Responsible, Start Date, and End Date for the goal. These are required fields.

Admins, Super Users, and Managers also have the ability to create goals in bulk by selecting multiple users under the Person Responsible field. Visit this article to learn more about bulk goal creation.

You may see a Contributor field, where you can designate individuals who are assisting in achieving this goal. For more information on goal contributors, visit this article.

Goal Details Tab

The Goal Details tab may contain a variety of fields to be completed, depending on your account settings. However, all users will at least see the Measurement field.

  • Measurement: This field allows you to designate how the goal will be measured with five different options provided.

  • Additional Fields: Depending on your configuration you may see the following options when completing the Goal Details tab. The choices and expectations for these settings vary for each organization. If you're unsure about the appropriate selections for these items, it's advisable to check with your organization.

    • Type

    • Goal Category

    • Filter Goals by Department

    • Align to Parent

    • Year

    • Quarter

    • Weight

Additional Information & Attachments Tab

These two tabs allow you to include any additional information helpful in completing, measuring, or tracking the goal that may not be captured in the Goal Details tab. These two tabs do not have required fields.

Notify Tab

After entering all required information in the previous tabs, select the individuals you want to notify. Those chosen will receive an email notification that the goal has been created.

Save & Create Your Goal

The last step is to click “Create” in the top right corner. This saves your goal.

View Created Goals

To view your created goal, utilize the goals table. From here you can quickly see your goals and those goals to which you are a contributor (if applicable). You can also easily see information like the Start Date and End Dates for goals as well as the date the goal was created.

You can also make edits and updates to your goal from this table by clicking the 3-dot menu next to the goal name.
