Set a Custom Check-In Reminder Frequency

Control the frequency of Check-In reminders on a form by form basis.

Updated over 4 months ago

By default, employees receive check-in reminders seven days before their next check-in is due. However, you can adjust this reminder timing by enabling the "Custom Due Date Reminder" setting, which allows you to select from various options for your reminder emails.

Manager users and above can set a custom check-in reminder frequency for each form. This means that one employee can receive reminders seven days before their check-in, while another employee can receive reminders up to 30 days in advance.

Enabling Custom Reminder Frequency

To begin using the custom Check-In reminder feature, an Admin within your organization can navigate to Account Settings > Preferences, then under Check-Ins set "Enable Custom Due Date Reminder" to On.

Setting a Custom Reminder Frequency

Once the "Custom Due Date Reminder" setting is enabled, you can set a custom reminder frequency either when updating existing check-ins or when creating new ones.

In both cases, you'll see a Due Date Reminder field when editing or creating the check-in.

By default, the frequency is set to "7 Days Before", but you can select from various options using the dropdown menu.

If none of the predefined frequencies meet your needs, choose the "Custom" option to display a slider. This slider allows you to set any reminder frequency between 1 and 30 Days Before the check-in due date.

Once you've selected the desired frequency, Create or Save the form to apply your changes.

You can update individual check-in forms using the three-dot menu beside the user's check-in within the check-in application. Alternatively, you can apply changes to multiple check-ins at once using our Bulk Operations tool. Check out this article to learn more about making changes in bulk.
