Setting Multiple Due Dates for Performance Reviews

The Performance Review application allows you to set phased due dates within the review cycle. To enable this feature, you must first toggle on the "Enable Multiple Due Dates for Reviews" setting in your Account Settings.

Once enabled, you can assign new reviews with phased due dates or update existing reviews to include staggered due dates. This allows users to set separate due dates for the employee assessment, manager assessment, and sign-off, instead of one final due date.

Assigning New Reviews with Phased Due Dates

There are two ways to assign Performance Reviews (refer to this article for more details):

  1. Assign from Template

  2. Assign from the Performance Review application

Regardless of which method you choose to assign new reviews, three separate due date fields will be available when the multiple due dates setting is toggled on.

  • Sign-Off Due Date: The final deadline for completing the entire review process. By this date, the manager should sign the review and hold any necessary conversations with the employee.

  • Manager Assessment Due Date: The date by which the manager should complete their portion of the review.

  • Self-Assessment Due Date: The date by which the employee should complete their self-assessment.

Important Note: The available dates are driven by the Sign-Off Due Date. The Manager Assessment Due Date cannot exceed the Sign-Off Due Date, and the Self-Assessment Due Date cannot exceed the Manager Assessment Due Date or the Sign-Off Due Date.

Once assigned, you can view the staggered due dates in the Performance Review application table.

Updating Phased Due Dates

You can update the associated due dates in two ways:

1. Updating a single review's due dates

  • Open the review by selecting the "View/Update" review from the three-dot menu beside their record within the Performance Review application.

  • Once you have opened the Performance Review record you want to update, go to the "Details" tab.

  • Adjust the due dates for each portion of the review process.

  • Click "Save & Close."

2. Updating multiple reviews' due dates

  • In the Performance Review application, click "Bulk Operations" on the far right.

  • Select the reviews you want to update.

  • Click "Bulk Edit."

  • From the Bulk Edit menu, update all three due dates.

  • Click "Proceed."

  • Review the changes and select "Apply changes to the selected records."
