Introducing our Custom Survey Builder app!

Updated over a week ago

Survey Builder

You are now able to create your own surveys. Our new Custom Survey Builder app gives you and your organization the ability to get an understanding of how members of your organization feel and what they want. By asking custom questions, you can get the detail you need.

How to make a custom survey

Step 1: To create a survey, click the 'create' button (green ‘+’ button) on the upper right hand of the Survey page.

Step 2: You will be prompted to give your survey a name and due date. You then have two choices to make. Check the first checkbox if you wish to give all manager and partner users the ability to share this survey with their direct-reports as well as the ability to view their direct-reports’ results. Check the second box if you wish to allow users to reply multiple times to this survey.

Step 3: On the next tab, click on the green ‘+’ at the bottom of the page to create a new question. Choose the type of question format to use by selecting one of the buttons that surround the '+'. You have 6 question-type options: dropdown, slider, text, vertical radio buttons, horizontal radio buttons, and Likert rating scale. We also have an option to create a text label, which you could use to insert a section title or provide more information. Note that new questions and text fields will be created at the bottom of the page!

You are also able to nest questions, in order to ask subquestions.

Step 4: Next, preview your questions and make sure everything looks just as you want it to.

Step 5: Customize your email to survey respondents by including replacement tokens (see image below).

Step 6: Finally, send out your survey!

Who can create and view Surveys?

Partner, Super, and Admin users are able to create custom surveys. Admin users are always able to view Survey results. Managers have limited access and are not able to view or send out certain surveys (see Step 2 in the previous section for more information on manager access).

Who can participate and how often?

Send the survey link to anyone within your company, if you are an admin. Super users, partners, and managers (depending on manager/partner permissions) can send surveys to their direct reports and one-over-ones. Again depending on the survey permissions, participants are either invited to answer only one time, or to repeat the survey multiple times.

What information about my Surveys is available in a quick-view?

See the Survey table to get quick, salient information about your survey.

  • ‘Total Request’ will show you the number of users invited to participate.

  • ‘Pending’ requests refers to the number of users who have not answered the survey.

  • ‘Completed’ requests refers to the number of users that have completed the survey. Note: this field does not refer to the total number of survey responses since, depending on the survey settings, your survey could have multiple responses per user.

  • ‘End Date’ is the day that the survey will close (assigned when survey was created).

  • ‘Owner’ refers to the person who created the survey.

  • ‘Status’ has two options: 'Active,' meaning responses are still being accepted, and 'Closed,' meaning no longer accepting responses.

  • ‘Locked’ has two options: 'Yes,' meaning that no edits are possible and 'No,' meaning that no edits are possible.
