Why weight goals or OKRs?

Applying a weight can assist your team in understanding which are most important to the organization. And if your organization ties Completion to compensation, weights are needed to calculate a weighted percent (%) completion.

Here is how it all works:

Weighting must be enabled on the Account Settings page (Admin users).

Weighting uses a 1 to 10 scale.

This scale can be applied when creating, editing, or when viewing your Team's Goals or OKRs by Team Member.

When viewing records for a single Team Member - weights can be updated from the table (see below).

The Weight % is dynamic and updated based on the start and end dates selected.

Below are Amy' goals for the calendar year.

If we change the date range which results in more or less records, the Weight % for each of the records shown will update accordingly.

Weight % = (x/y)*100 where x = the weight selected and y = the total sum of weights selected for all records in the time period.

Don't forget to check out the Goal Weighting Report. Currently, Admin users and Super users have access to Reports > Goal Weighting.

This report calculates the weighted % complete and provides a summary.
