Employees and their managers may now add, discuss and update Action Items during the Check-In process. Action Items can be updated by the employee while Checking-In, or updated by the employee and manager on the most recent Check-In response. Any Action Items left unfinished before the next Check-In will be automatically copied over.
Enabling Check-In Action Items
To begin using the Check-In Action Items, first ask your admin to navigate to Account Settings > Preferences, then under Check-Ins set "Enable Check-In Action Items" to On.
Add or Update Action Items while Checking-In
Once enabled, Action Items can be added by the employee while Checking-In. To do so, navigate to Apps > Check-Ins, then press Check-In or Resume Check-In.
In the Check-In form, click the Action Items tab, then Add Action Item.
A new Action Item card will be added to the top of the Action Items list. This card contains a Description, where the purpose of the Action Item should be typed.
You'll also see a Date Added stamp and, once the Action Item has been Marked Completed, a Date Completed stamp. While the Action Item is editable you'll see a Delete icon, should the Action Item need to be removed.
Action Items also contain an icon to launch the Discussion window where comments can be entered by the employee or their manager about this Action Item.
Note that Action Items are editable until they are Marked Completed and a new Check-In response has been submitted. Any changes made to Action Items will be automatically saved.
Add or Update Action Items after Checking-In
After Checking-In, Action Items may still be added or updated on the latest Check-In form. This allows users to track Action Items that may begin in the current Check-In period, but stretch into the next or subsequent Check-In periods.
To add or make changes to Action Items for a submitted Check-In, first navigate to Apps > Check-Ins, then press the Action Items tab on the most recent Check-In response.
Existing Action Items can be updated, or new Action Items can be added using the Add Action Item link.
