The video below provides a brief overview of the self-assessment process.
Upon receiving your assigned performance review, follow these steps to complete your self-assessment:
Access Your Self-Assessment:
Navigate to Apps > Performance Reviews.
Select the three dots menu next to your review and choose "Update Self-Assessment."
For Manager-level users and above, ensure you are in the "Me" context.
Performance Review Sections:
Click through each section of the review to complete your self-assessment. The sections included in the performance review are dependent upon the configuration set by your HR team.
Important Note: The titles and total number of sections included may vary between organizations based on your account configuration.
The application autosaves your ratings and comments periodically. Check the last autosave time in the top right corner of your review. Click "Save & Close" at any point to save progress for later.
Sidebar Drawers
As you are completing your self assessment, you can reference the sidebar drawers to view other relevant WorkDove records. This is helpful when completing your ratings and comments as you review your previous check-ins, 360 feedback, and recognition received.
Approval Section
Once completed, select the approval tab, mark your assessment as completed, and click "Submit." This notifies your manager that your self-assessment is finished via email. You will also receive a confirmation email that your self-assessment was submitted successfully.
Frequently Asked Questions
“Why can’t I edit my performance review?”
There are three possible scenarios where a self-assessment cannot be edited:
The assessment has been signed by the manager and moved to the “Past” tab, which locks the review for further edits.
Some accounts have an approval process enabled for performance reviews. In this case, once your manager sends the review for approval, edits can no longer be made to the review. If edits are needed after the review enters the approval process, then your review will need to be sent back for revisions.
Another user is currently viewing the performance review. Only one user can edit a review record at a time. For more information, please refer to this article.
“Why can’t I see my manager's notes?”
If your performance review is still in the “Current” tab and you cannot see any manager notes, this is due to an account setting that prevents manager notes and ratings from being visible prior to the manager’s signature of the review. Once the review is signed, you will be able to view the feedback in your “Past” tab.
Best Practices:
When assigning star ratings, include specific examples explaining the rationale behind your selection.
Consider reviewing previous check-ins, progress on goals, and any received recognition. This holistic approach provides context and a well-rounded perspective for a thorough self-assessment.
Keep in mind that a 3-star rating signifies meeting expectations. Ensure your assessments align with this benchmark for an accurate and fair evaluation.
