The anonymity of 360 Degree Feedback depends on the account settings enabled by your organization. There are 3 options:
Option 1: Anonymous Feedback Only
Your organization may opt for all feedback to be given anonymously. When this setting is enabled, you will see a note at the top of the feedback form that says “Your 360 Internal Feedback will be submitted anonymously.” In this case, your feedback is truly anonymous and cannot be traced by account admins or other users.
Option 2: Employee Choice - Anonymous or Named Feedback
Your organization may decide to allow individuals to determine whether their feedback will be submitted anonymously or named. In this case, you will see a checkbox at the top of the feedback form. The checkbox gives you the option to decide how your feedback will be submitted.
Option 3: Named Feedback Only
Your organization may require all feedback to be named. In this case, you will not see any notes about anonymity or checkbox option at the top of your feedback form.
Why might 360-degree feedback be anonymous?
Anonymity can encourage employees to give more honest and candid feedback. This is especially important for constructive feedback, which can be difficult to give in person.
Are there any drawbacks to anonymous 360-degree feedback?
One drawback of anonymous feedback is that it can make it difficult to follow up on specific feedback points. Additionally, anonymous feedback can sometimes be used to provide feedback that might not be constructive depending on the motivation of the individual giving the feedback.
Overall, whether or not 360-degree feedback is anonymous depends on the specific organization and the settings that have been enabled in your account. For further questions, check with your account Admin User.
