What OKRs / goals are available to add to a review?

Please note that incorporating OKRs / Goals into Performance Reviews must be enabled for your account. Administrative users can request this option from the Customer Success team.

If you were looking for steps on how to add the OKRs or Goals click here for step-by-step details.

OKRs or Goal records can be dynamic. What we mean by that is these records can span more than one year, only span a specific quarter within the year, and dates can be a bit fluid. There may also be certain OKRs / goals you feel should be rated as part of the review process and others that should not.

Keeping the above in mind along with the static or fixed time period of reviews we wanted the availability of these records in the review to be flexible to meet a number of potential needs.

What records are included in the drop menu?

The records are based on three (3) factors:

  • The End Date of the OKR or Goal

  • The Due Date of the Performance Review

  • The calendar year of the review Due Date

This is how the list is determined.

  • If the End Date of the goal is within the last 365 days from the Due Date of the review; it is included.

  • If the End date is within the next 365 days after the Due Date; it is included.

This allows for most recent "past" goals that span across review cycle years and future goals set for a shorter time period within a longer review cycle to be potentially rated and reviewed.

In addition, closed goals are still considered as they may be completed with the quarter but need to be rated on an annual or longer review cycle.

Consider the scenario below.

Claire has three (3) goals where she is assigned as the Person Responsible.

  • 2019 Goal - End Date 12/31/2019

  • 2020 Goal - End Date 12/31/2020

  • 2021 Goal - End Date 12/31/2021

Her performance Review is set for the 1H 2020 review cycle with a Due Date of 8/14/2020.

In the OKR or Goals tab of the review, you have the option to Add in the appropriate records. In this scenario both the 2019 and the 2020 goals are available, but not the 2021 goal.

This is because the 2019 goal may still need to be rated and reviewed during the review cycle following the End Date of the goal. In this case it is the 1st Half of the year review in 2020.
