How can multiple managers comment on a performance review?
Updated over a week ago

Sometimes organizations value multiple managers having the ability to provide feedback on an employee's performance review. What is the best way to approach this in the WorkDove platform?

Let's say you are a manager of other managers and you want the ability to comment on the performance review of someone two levels below you.

Under the My Team context in Apps>Performance Reviews, you will see in the screenshot that the system will automatically filter to show the performance reviews of your direct reports only.

If you hit the minus button to take away that filter and select Apply Filters, this will remove you the as the Primary Manager and will allow you to see all the way down your cascade into the direct reports of your direct reports.

From here, you may select any one of these reviews by clicking the 3-dot menu>View/Update Review and commenting in the Coaching notes section.

Let's assume you are commenting on the review of someone who is two levels below you, and that person's Primary Manager has already made comments for the employee. Our recommendation is to type below the comments in the Coaching Notes box and place your name at the beginning so employees can easily see which comments belong to who as shown in the screenshot below.

In regards to the star ratings, cascading managers do have the ability to change the star ratings inside the employee's review. However, it is always recommended to have a collaboration meeting with the Primary Manager to discuss what star ratings are most appropriate if you, the cascading manager, feel they should be different from what the Primary Manager has already marked.
