Creating and Tracking 9-Box Assignments
Updated over a week ago

To initiate the process of assessing employees' leadership potential, you need to create an assignment within the 9-Box application. Manager-level users and above can complete 9-Box assignments in WorkDove. Employees do not see the 9-Box application.

Creating 9-Box Assignments

  1. Navigate to Apps > 9-Box and select the + Create option.

  2. Select the Due Date and Year for the assignment.

  3. Next, choose the Evaluators who will be completing the 9-Box assessments. Use the people selector search and filter options to narrow the list as needed.

  4. Then, select the Employees (Evaluatees) that the Evaluators should assess. Use the people selector search and filter options to narrow the list as needed.

  5. Finally, select Create. This will create the pending assignment for the managers and send them an email notification.

Tracking 9-Box Assignments

Once you've created your 9-Box assignments, you can easily track their progress within the 9-Box application.

Within the 9-Box application, navigate to the "Assignments" view. From here you will have the ability to toggle between Pending and Completed assignments.

Pending View

In the Pending tab, the table view provides an overview of each user's progress, including the number of employees they need to assess, the number remaining, and the percentage of the assignment completed.

Use the three-dot menu next to a pending assignment to edit the assignment, send reminders, or delete the assignment.

Utilize the Bulk Operations function to send multiple reminders at once.

Export a CSV file listing all pending assignments using the "Export Records" option.

Completed View

In the Completed tab, the table view displays the number of employees each user assessed, the associated year, and the assignment dates.

From the three-dot menu beside a completed assignment, you can view the assignment, restore it, or delete it.

Important Note: Restoring a completed 9-Box assignment moves it back to the "Pending" view and allows the user to make changes to their assigned individual placements. Restoring requires the user to place all individuals in their associated assignment again.

Similar to the Pending view, you can also export a CSV file listing all completed assignments using the "Export Records" option.

Once assignments have been completed, you are ready to begin the process of calibrating and finalizing your 9-Box for the entire organization.
