Overall Score Reporting
Updated over 3 months ago

If your organization utilizes ratings within reviews and has the Overall Score setting toggled on, the Overall Score view is available within the Performance Review application. The Overall Score setting is one that must be toggled on by a member of the WorkDove team, please contact us if you would like to learn more!

Enabling the Overall Score setting assigns a comprehensive score to each performance review. Once toggled on, Account Admins can modify the overall score values for your account through your account settings. From here, they can assign a number to the 16 individual boxes within the Performance-Values Matrix.

The Overall Score is determined by the employee's position in the Performance Values Matrix and the corresponding value assigned to that position. This approach can mitigate the influence of rater bias, as all data points within a specific box are assigned the same score.

The Overall Score is also included on the review record and is included in the export view of the Performance Review data.

Note: Some clients choose to export this data as they discuss compensation adjustments following a review cycle.

Examples

Here is an example of how the Overall Score applies to scored reviews.

The score is rounded up based on the matrix placement.

Employee 1 (blue dot)

Y-Axis Score = 2.67

X-Axis Score = 3.5

Overall Score = 2

The Overall Score is a 2 because the employee did not meet expectations for performance (Y-axis) but exceeded expectations on competencies (X-axis). Therefore, the employee falls in the top left quadrant of the Potential section of the PVM.

Employee 2 (green dot)

Y-Axis Score = 3.5

X-Axis Score = 3.75

Overall Score = 3

The Overall Score is 3 because the employee exceeded expectations for performance (Y-axis) and exceeded expectations on competencies (X-axis). Therefore, the employee falls in the bottom left quadrant of the Star section of the PVM.

Employee 3 (green dot)

Y-Axis Score = 4

X-Axis Score = 4

Overall Score = 5

The Overall Score is 5 because the employee exceeded expectations for performance (Y-axis) and exceeded expectations on competencies (X-axis). Therefore, the employee falls in the middle of the 4 Star quadrants. The PV matrix rounds them up to the 5 since they are on the line of the top right quadrant of the Star section.

Overall Score Report View

To access an overview of the Overall Score report navigate to Apps > Performance Reviews. From there, select the Overall Score view.

Managers will see the Overall Score Report for their team. While Super Users and Admins have the option to toggle between the report for their Team or Company.

This view offers a breakdown of Overall Scores for Performance Reviews on the Y-Axis, with the X-Axis representing the percentage of reviews.

The "Not Scored" column on the report denotes the number and percentage of records that have not yet received a score. It's common to have records in this category as your team progresses through the review process.
